Recently, Delhi Police has become the first police force in the country to make collection of forensic evidence mandatory in offenses punishable with a sentence of more than 6 years. This has been done to increase conviction rates and integrate the criminal justice system with forensic science investigation.
Delhi Police has integrated the criminal justice system with forensic science investigation and collaborated with the National University of Forensic Sciences, Gandhinagar to train its officers.
