 Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister
and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar
Modi died on 13 May 2024 in New
Delhi. He breathed his last at AIIMS
in New Delhi. He was struggling
with cancer.
 Sushil Kumar Modi has an
invaluable contribution in the
upliftment and success of the BJP in
Bihar, by strongly opposed to the
Emergency, he made a distinct
identity in student politics. Sushil
Kumar Modi did a very
commendable job as an
administrator and his active role in
passing GST will always be
remembered.
 The yield of JP movement led by
freedom fighter and socialist leader
Jayaprakash Narayan, Modi was a
strong leader of Bihar politics for a
long time. He became the first
Deputy Chief Minister in 2005 when
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took
away the power of the state from
the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
 Modi will also be remembered for
his long term as Finance Minister of
Bihar and earned the nickname
"Bhamashah" from Mr. Kumar.
 When Mr. Kumar launched welfare
schemes like free bicycle and dress
for students besides scholarship for
Mahadalits, many journalists asked
him from where he would get the
money. Mr. Kumar then replied, "I
have my Bhamashah who will
arrange money."
 He was one of the few leaders who
achieved the achievement of being
a member of four legislative houses
- Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Bihar
Assembly and Legislative Council.

 62 -year -old Richard Rick Sleman,
who was a boar kidney, died in the
US state of Massachusetts. Richard
