Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurates Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya

 On September 28, 2022, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya on the 93rd birth anniversary of late singer Lata Mangeshkar. Culturalnprograms were also organized on the occasion at Ram Katha Park.

 Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has changed the name of the famous Nyay Ghat Chawraha in Ayodhya to Lata Mangeshkar Chawraha. Forty feet long and weighing 14 tons, a musical instrument- Veena has been installed at this Chawraha.

 Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar, 92, passed away on February 6, 2022. Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar was born on 28 September 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Lata Mangeshkar has always been an example of God- given melodious voice, soulful expression and incredible ability to grasp things very quickly. Due to these characteristics, her talent was recognized very soon.

 Lata ji also has the record of recording maximum number of songs. Apart from film songs, she has also sung non-film songs very well. Lata ji's talent got recognition in the year 1947 when she got a chance to sing song in the movie "Aapki Seva Mein".

 After this song, she got recognition in the film world and got chances to sing many songs one after the other. After the song “Aayega Aane Wala” sung by her in the year 1949, the number of her fans started increasing day by day.

 Meanwhile she worked with all the famous musicians of that time. In 2001, she was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. She won 3 National Film Awards (1972, 1974, 1990) and 12 Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards (1964, 1967–1973, 1975, 1981, 1983, 1985). She has also won four Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer. She was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1993.
