India won a total of 202 medals in the 16th Special Olympics World Games 2023 held in Germany


 The 16th Special Olympics World Games, the world's largest inclusive sporting event, took place in Berlin, Germany from 17 June to 25 June 2023. This momentous occasion brought together thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities from around the world to compete in 26 sports.

 India ended its Special Olympics World Games 2023 campaign by winning 202 medals (76 gold, 75 silver, and 51 bronze), the last of which came from the track athletics. The Indian contingent composed of 198 athletes and integrated partners and 57 coaches competed in 16 sports.

 Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana has been chosen to motivate and support the Indian contingent participating in the Special Olympics for persons with intellectual disabilities.

 16th Special Olympics World Games 2023


 The official mascot of the World Games was 'Unity', and the motto of the World Games Berlin 2023 is "Together Unbeatable" / #UnbeatableTogether. The first Special Olympics World Games in 1968 in Chicago featured athletes from the United States and Canada.

 For the first time, Germany was chosen as the host country for the Special Olympics World Games. The Games brought together approximately 7,000 Special Olympics athletes from approximately 190 countries.

 It is organized by the Special Olympics Organization which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. It is organized every two years. The 2025 and 2027 editions will be held in Italy and Australia respectively.

 Host nation of U-17 FIFA World Cup – Indonesia


 FIFA has selected Indonesia as the host country for the Under-17 World Cup, with the tournament scheduled to take place from 10 November to 2 December this year. Hosting rights were initially awarded to Peru in 2019, but were later withdrawn due to concerns over the state of the country's infrastructure.
