French Writer Annie Ernaux Wins Nobel Prize for Literature 2022

 On October 06, 2022, French writer Annie Ernaux has been awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature. Annie is chosen for the Nobel for uncovering social restrictions, digging into the roots of her memories with her courage and moral precision.

 Annie has written several articles on bold clinical acuity through her writing. Annie Ernaux has also written several novels, articles, plays and films in French and English.

 French writer Annie Ernaux was born in 1940. She grew up in the small town of Yvetot in Normandy, France. Here her parents owned a grocery store and cafe. She was given this award for writing about the effects of colonialism, cultures through her writings.

 The Nobel Prize in Literature has been postponed twice in the 119- year history of the Nobel Prize, which began in 1901. It was postponed for the first time in 1943 during the Second World War.

 The second time it was postponed in 2018 due to allegations of sexual abuse against the husband of the Swedish Academy jury member Katrina and French photographer Jan Claude Arnault.
