Every year 23 September is celebrated as Haifa Day by the Indian Army. The main objective of Haifa Day is to show respect to the Indian soldiers who fought in the Battle of Haifa.

The Battle of Haifa took place on September 23, 1918, in which soldiers from Jodhpur, Mysore and Hyderabad, who were part of the 15th Imperial Service Cavalry Brigade, participated in the First World War on behalf of the Allies under German and Turkish-held Israel.

The 'city of Haifa' was liberated. In honor of the soldiers who fought in this war, the Government of India re-named the famous Teen Murti Memorial in Delhi as Teen Murti Haifa Memorial.
