What is Moonlighting?
When an employee works secretly in his permanent job as well as elsewhere, it is technically called 'moonlighting'. In simple words it is also called side job. Moonlighting has become quite popular in the IT industry as working from home has become the norm during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most companies consider it unethical, yet people do moonlighting. Moonlighting is more visible in remote jobs. The side job is called moonlighting because this work is mostly done at night or on weekends.
