PUMA India has signed a multi-year
agreement with the Athletics
Federation of India to supply
performance kits, speed suits and
travel gear exclusively to Indian
athletes in track and field, jump,
throw, cross country running and
marathon in domestic and
international tournaments.
With the partnership, many
international stars such as Neeraj
Chopra (javelin throw), Kishore
Kumar Jena (javelin throw), Parul
Chaudhary (steeplechase), Subha
Venkatesan (4x 400m relay), Murali
Sreeshankar (long jump), Jyoti
Yarraji (hurdles), Priyanka
Goswami (race walk) and Jeswin
Aldrin (long jump) will benefit from
PUMA's gear at sporting events.
Olympics, Asian Games and
Commonwealth Games are not
included in kitting under this
partnership.
By providing products including
apparel, footwear and accessories,
PUMA will equip over 400 athletes
with a competitive edge, ensuring
that every milli-second is
maximized to its fullest advantage.
This is the first time that Indian
athletes will have access to the
speed suits that PUMA supplies to
other athletes globally. The
company said that Puma's speed
suits are designed to aid in
freedom of movement,
aerodynamics and speed.
PUMA has invested in 17
federations such as the Jamaica
Athletics Administrative
Association, Cuban Athletics
Federation, Brazilian Athletics
Confederation, Athletics New
Zealand and Portuguese Athletics
Federation.
AFI came into existence in 1946 and
the federation organizes national
championships, trains Indian
athletics national campers.
