'Operation Trinetra-2' was organized to eliminate the terrorists hiding in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir
A joint search and cordon operation 'Operation Trinetra-2' has been launched by the army and police to trace terrorists hiding in the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. Four terrorists have been killed in this while four people belonging to the Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were taken into custody in the Beerwah area.
'Operation Trinetra 2' was launched on 17 July 2023 at Sindarah and Maidana in Surankote Tehsil and a fierce gun battle with the hiding terrorists took place during the operation.
The counter-insurgency effort Operation Trinetra, which was launched by the Army on April 20 as a response to a terrorist attack on a military vehicle in the Mendhar area of Poonch, resulted in the death of five soldiers.
In the wake of attempts to send armed terrorists, arms and narcotics from across the border, random searches of vehicles and surprise checks have been intensified in Poonch.
