Women's rights activist Srishti Bakshi wins 'Changemaker' award at UN SDG Action Awards

 Recently, the UN SDG Action Award ceremony was held in Bonn, Germany. During this, Srishti Bakshi was honored with the 'Changemaker' award at the UN SDG Action Awards.

 She has been given this honor for combating gender-based violence and advocating for safe access to public places. The winner was chosen from over 3,000 applications from over 150 countries.

 Srishti Bakshi traveled 3,800 km in 240 days across India. During this time she gathered information about sensitivity to gender-based violence and inequality, meeting with more than a million people. She conducted over 100 workshops focused on women's safety and being financially independent.

 She also made a documentary film on the stories she received during her travels. It was titled WOMB: Women Of My Billion. The documentary was screened at more than 15 prestigious international film festivals and won 11 Audience Choice Awards.

 These awards are an important program of the UN SDG Action Campaign. These awards encourage transformational attitudes that take action towards a more sustainable future on Earth.
