Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2, 1904. It is worth noting that this day of October 2 is dedicated to two great men of our country. Not only Gandhiji but also Lal Bahadur Shastri's birth anniversary is celebrated on this day.

On this day people remember the patriotism and sacrifice of Shastri ji along with the ideals of Gandhi ji. Lal Bahadur Shastri is the source of inspiration for crores of Indians. He was the Prime Minister of the country from 1964 to 1966, during his short tenure he did many important works.

During the Indo-Pakistani War in 1965, he raised the slogan of 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan' to boost the morale of soldiers and farmers amidst the 'lack of food' in the country.

Shastri ji served the country as a freedom fighter along with the Prime Minister. In the same tone of his guru Mahatma Gandhi, he once said – “Hard work is like praying”. Lal Bahadur Shastri, who had thoughts like Mahatma Gandhi, is the perfect identity of Indian culture.
