Rajasthan, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Courts get New Chief Justices
On October 11, 2022, the Union Ministry of Law and Justice has announced the names of new Chief Justices for the High Courts in Rajasthan, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The government has announced the appointment after the Supreme Court Collegium recommended their appointments.
New Chief Justices
1. Justice Pankaj Mithal has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court. He was earlier the Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
2. Justice Prasanna B Varale has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. He was the senior-most judge of the Bombay High Court.
3. Justice A.M. Magrey was elevated as the Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Courts. Justice A.M. Magrey was earlier a judge of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Courts.
