The annual festival ‘Sirimanotsavam’ will be organized in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh on October 11, 2022. This major tribal folk festival to be held in Andhra Pradesh has not been held in the last two years due to COVID-19.

Sirimanotsavam

This annual festival is also known as Sirimanu Panduga. Four to five lakh people are expected to come from different parts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

It is a major festival of the presiding deity of Vizianagaram city Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Jatara. Traditionally, Sirimanotsavam Jatara is celebrated every year on the first Tuesday after the Dussehra festival.

Devotees will witness the spectacle of a priest sitting on top of a 55- foot pillar (Sirimanu) in royal robes around the fort. The priest hanging from the upper end of Sirimanu blesses the devotees and the chariot is driven through the main road to Vizianagaram.
