China-Japan may be affected by Hinnamnor, the most powerful storm of 2022

Tropical storm 'Hinnamnor', said to be the most powerful of the year 2022, is moving towards the East China Sea, which can affect Japan and China. Based on the maximum wind speed recorded at this point, it is believed to be the strongest storm of the year. It is expected to cross the Japanese islands later this week.

However, the east coast of Taiwan or China is only at slight risk. Due to this, flights may be affected throughout the week. As forecast, the storm is moving south of Okinawa, then north and toward the island over the weekend.

Projections indicate that the storm will continue northward toward the Korean peninsula next week. It will bypass the coast of Taiwan and China. However, there will be some decrease in its strength in the coming days.

Notably, Super Typhoon Hinnamnor developed into a hurricane on August 29, 2022. It is generating sustained wind speeds of around 241 kilometers per hour (kmph).
