Indian boxer Mary Kom honored with 'Global Indian Icon of the Year Award' at UK-India Awards
India's first Olympic medalist in women's boxing, Mary Kom has been honored with the Global Indian Icon of the Year award at the annual UK-India Awards in Windsor, southeast England.
The 5th edition of the award recognizes outstanding contributions of leaders in business, professional services, government, culture, and social impact, highlighting their remarkable achievements in strengthening bilateral relations.
Also Lifetime Achievement Award to Shekhar Kapur, director of the Oscar-nominated film 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' for his contribution to the field of cinema in both countries.
