Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahakal Lok
On October 11, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Shri Mahakal Lok at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Shri Mahakal Lok is a place where all the mythological stories of Lord Shankar will be found at one place.
It is built in the Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Lord Shiva Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling near the Kshipra River in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India, is counted among the famous 12 Jyotirlingas of the country.
This temple is three storeyed. The Linga of Mahakaleshwar is installed at the bottom, Omkareshwar in the middle and Nagchandreshwar in the upper part.
Mahakaleshwar is also considered as the ruler of Earth. The temple was rebuilt in the 11th century, but it was damaged 140 years later by the Muslim invader Iltutmish. The present temple is believed to be of Maratha era. It was renovated by Baba Ramchandra Shainavi, the Diwan of the then Scindia State.
