Uttar Pradesh government approves first tiger reserve in Bundelkhand

 As part of its efforts to conserve tigers, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved the establishment of the first tiger reserve at Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary in Bundelkhand region.

 In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the cabinet approved notifying the Ranipur Tiger Reserve under Section 38 (v) of the Wildlife Protection Act.

 This tiger reserve will be spread over an area of 52989.86 hectares. It will have a buffer zone of 29958.86 hectares and a core area of 23031.00 hectares. The core area has already been recognized by the government as Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary.

 Along with this, Ranipur Tiger Conservation Foundation will be established for its development. Tigers, leopards, bears, spotted deer, sambar, chinkara, various types of birds and other mammals will be able to reside in this sanctuary.
