CISF Raising Day 2025: A Historic Salute in Thakkolam
On March 7, 2025, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) marked its 56th Raising Day with a grand ceremonial parade at the Regional Training Centre in Thakkolam, Tamil Nadu. The event was presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who praised the CISF’s vital role in safeguarding critical infrastructure across India.
The parade featured 388 CISF personnel and an all-women band comprising 63 members, highlighting both discipline and diversity. A General Salute, an elegant march-past, and ceremonial performances formed the core of the celebrations.
In a landmark announcement, Amit Shah declared the renaming of the training centre after Rajaditya Chola, a revered warrior from Tamil Nadu’s Chola dynasty, aiming to honor regional heritage and inspire young recruits.
Security was significantly enhanced in Thakkolam—a town known for its cultural prominence and the Jalanatheeswarar Temple—to ensure the smooth conduct of the high-profile event. Shah reiterated the government's commitment to modernizing the CISF through technological upgrades and the creation of new battalions, including an all-women unit.
This year’s Raising Day not only celebrated past achievements but also showcased the CISF’s growing role in national development and social welfare, firmly rooting the force’s identity in both tradition and transformation.
