Union Home Minister Amit Shah launches 'Akshar River Cruise' in Gujarat
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched the 'Akshar River Cruise' on the Akshar River at Sabarmati Riverfront Ahmedabad on 2nd July 2023 which is expected to boost tourism in Ahmedabad with live music and delicious vegetarian and Jain cuisine.
Developed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, this cruise is the first passenger catamaran built in the country with twin engines under Make in India at a cost of Rs 15 crore, which can safely travel 165 passengers at a time.
'Akshar River Cruise' on the riverfront will be a new attraction for Ahmedabad. The 30-meter-long luxury cruise will help boost tourism with attractions such as live music and delicious vegetarian and Jain food.
The River Cruise 180 is equipped with life jackets, a fire extinguishing system, and emergency rescue boats and has been designed keeping in mind the safety of the
occupants.
Sabarmati Riverfront As the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi first envisioned a riverfront, the riverfront became known not only in Ahmedabad but also within the country and abroad and became a center of tourism.
