RBI appoints P Vasudevan as the new executive director
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed P. Vasudevan as Executive Director. His appointment is effective from July 03, 2023. The Reserve Bank said in a statement that Vasudevan will look at the Department of Currency Management, Corporate Strategy and Budget (areas other than budget and funds) and Enforcement.
Prior to being promoted as Executive Director, Vasudevan was the Chief General Manager in charge of the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems. The apex bank said Vasudevan has worked in banks and non-banking financial companies, payment and settlement systems over a period of about 30 years at the Reserve Bank.
Adhav Arjun - Basketball Federation of India (BFI)
Tamil Nadu Basketball Association (TNBA) President Adhav Arjun has been elected as the President of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI). Aadhav defeated sitting Speaker K Govindaraj by securing an impressive 38 out of 39 votes. Kulwinder Singh Gill, a former player and president of the Madhya Pradesh Basketball Association, was elected general secretary.
Historically, in the past three decades some leaders were appointed without an election process. This time the election has been conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
SBI's CFO - Kameswara Rao Kodvanti
The country's largest lender State Bank of India recently announced the appointment of Kameswara Rao Kodwanti as its Chief Financial Officer as former CFO Charanjit Surinder Singh Attra resigned from the post. SBI was established on: 1 July 1955.
The Chairperson of SBI is: Dinesh Kumar Khara. State Bank of India celebrated its 68th Bank Day on 01 July 2023.
