President Draupadi Murmu presented the 'Bhoomi Samman Award for outstanding performance in land records modernization
President Draupadi Murmu presented the Bhoomi Samman Awards for 2023 at a function in New Delhi. The awards were presented to 9 State Secretaries and 68 District Collectors for their outstanding contribution to key components of the Digital India land records modernization program.
Odisha has been conferred with the 'Bhoomi Samman' award as the best state in India. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha has become the leading state in the digitization of land records and public services through 5T implementation and 'Mo Sarkar' rules.
Out of total 766 districts in the country, 68 districts have received Platinum Awards in six categories under DILRMP. It is a matter of pride for the people of Odisha that 19 districts of Odisha have received
this award.
Awards were given to Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tripura, and West Bengal on the occasion.
Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP)
The Digital India land records modernization program was launched by the Government of India in August 2008. Its main objectives are to modernize the management of land records, reduce the scope of land/property disputes, enhance transparency in the land records maintenance system, and facilitate the eventual move towards guaranteed adjudication rights for immovable properties in the country.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste said that the digitization of more than 94 percent of land records has already been completed and the rest will be completed before the deadline of March 31, 2024
