Former Defense Minister of India and SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away


 Former Defense Minister of India and SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav has passed away on October 10, 2022. He breathed his last breath at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Mulayam Singh was 82 years old.

 He was a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a 7-time MP. He was born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai. He had also been the Defense Minister of the country and had contributed significantly in strengthening the Defense Department of the country. He was also the Defense Minister of the country from June 1996 to March 1998.

 Founder of Samajwadi Party


 Mulayam Singh, popularly known as Netaji, was the founder of the Samajwadi Party. He formed the party in the year 1992. At present, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav is the national president of the Samajwadi Party.

 At present his party is in the role of opposition in UP. Mulayam Singh Yadav's political career started in the year 1969, who started his career as a teacher. He was first elected as MLA from Jaswantnagar in Etawah in 1967 as a candidate of United Socialist Party.

 Before the 1974 mid-term elections, Mulayam joined Charan Singh's Bharatiya Kranti Dal and won the Jaswantnagar seat on the ticket of Bharatiya Kranti Dal. He won from this seat again in 1977 on Janata Party ticket.

 He was the Chief Minister of UP thrice. He became the CM of UP for the first time on 5 December 1989 and was CM till 24 June 1991. He was accompanied by former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda and during I. K. Gujral's tenure he was also the Defense Minister of the country.
