81st Annual Session of Indian Roads Congress being organized in Lucknow
On 08 October 2022, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly inaugurated the 81st Annual Session of Indian Road Congress in Lucknow.
The 81st Indian Roads Congress is being hosted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh from 8-11 October 2022 in Lucknow. Nitin Gadkari announced road projects worth eight thousand crore rupees for Uttar Pradesh, including the construction of 13 road over bridges with a fund of one thousand crore rupees.
The Roads Congress will discuss modern technologies in road construction and will have several sessions.
The Indian Roads Congress (IRC) is the apex body of highway engineers in the country. The IRC was established in December, 1934 on the recommendations of the Road Development Committee of India, popularly known as the Jayakar Committee, set up by the Government of India for the purpose of road development in India.
