37th National Games to be held in Goa in October 2023
Goa will host the 37th National Games in October 2023. Recently the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced this. The Goa State Government has conveyed its in-principle approval to the IOA to host the next edition of the National Games. The Goa delegation will carry the IOA flag at the closing ceremony of the 36th National Games in Surat on October 12, 2022.
37th National Games dates will be decided keeping in mind the dates of the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China from 23 September to 08 October 2023.
Goa got the right to host the National Games in 2008, but the state failed to host them due to various reasons, forcing the IOA to shift the 36th edition to Gujarat, which was less likely to host the event.
