Where is the World Bank ?    The World Bank or International Bank is a bank established by the United Nations, which gives loans to its member countries for reconstruction and development. This bank was established by the United Nations on 27 December 1945. Initially, an agreement was signed for the establishment of this bank in 29 countries. In June 1946, the office of the World Bank was established in Washington DC, the capital of America. In 1972, the number of members of this bank increased to 119. The countries that give the most money to the bank are mainly America, England, West Germany, France, India, Canada and Japan. Apart from these, there are less money paying member countries like Israel, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Ghana, Yugoslavia etc.    This bank mainly gives loans on the basis of government guarantee to its member countries or any private agency for reconstruction, development and promotion of international trade. These loans are given for a very long period. Development works mainly include electricity, aircraft, rail, communication etc. Funds for this loan are arranged mainly from the money deposited by the member countries and from the income of the bank. Member countries deposit money in the bank according to their economic condition. The World Bank also provides technical assistance. The administration of the World Bank is carried out by a board of governors, executive directors, a head and a number of employees. Each member of the board of governors is the governor of the country. They meet once in a year. Twenty executive directors approve the loan.
