New York Tops Global Financial Centers Index

 The Global Financial Centers Index- GFCI 32 has been released on September 22, 2022. New York has topped the 32nd edition of the Global Financial Centers Index as the world's most preferred financial center. The top three most preferred financial centers in the world are New York, London and Singapore.

 New York has retained the top spot for the past four years. The Russian invasion of Ukraine and the resulting diplomatic crisis has pushed Moscow down from 22nd place to 73rd. India's New Delhi and Mumbai are ranked 68th and 70th respectively.

Global Financial Centers Index

 The Global Financial Centers Index compares the competitiveness of major financial centers around the world. It ranks these financial centers based on online questionnaires and more than 100 indices from organizations such as the World Bank, Organization for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD) and Economist Intelligence Unit.

 Its inaugural edition was published in March 2007. It is published twice a year. It is jointly published by the Z/Yen Group in London and the China Development Institute in Shenzhen.
