Ministry of Rural Development launched 'JALDOOT App'

 The Ministry of Rural Development has launched 'JALDOOT Application' on September 27, 2022 in New Delhi. With this, the water level of selected wells in villages across the country will be tracked. Gram Rozgar Sahayak will measure the water level of selected wells before and after monsoon twice a year through the JALDOOT App.

 The data of this app will help in making a better action plan. Ground water level data will be helpful in Gram Panchayat development plan and MNREGA program. According to the ministry, several steps are being taken to improve water management in rural and urban areas. This includes watershed development, afforestation, water body development and renewal and rainwater harvesting.
