Uma Kolkata became the champion of India's first women's kabaddi league


 India's first women's kabaddi league was organized in Dubai by APS Sports Event Management, in which Uma Kolkata defeated Punjab Panthers 31-29 in the final played on 28 June 2023.

 The winning Uma Kolkata team got Rs 1 Crore and Punjab Panthers got Rs 50 lakh and second place. The other two semi-final teams were Rajasthan Riders and Delhi Dynamites.

 All matches from 16 June to 27 June were held at the 'Shabab Al-Ahli' Sports Club in Dubai. The first match took place between Rajasthan Raiders vs Gujarat Angels. Actor Govinda was made its brand ambassador. Pradeep Kumar was its CEO.

 Eight teams participated in the Women's Kabaddi League, which were Delhi Dynamites, Gujarat Angels, Great Marathas, Haryana Hustlers, Punjab Panthers, Rajasthan Riders, Uma Kolkata and Bengaluru Hawks.
