The country's first Esport and Break Dance Academy will be established in the state of Madhya Pradesh
Break dancing and e-sports in Madhya Pradesh have been decided to promote two such sports that are included in the upcoming Olympics and Asian Games. On 12 July 2023, the Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mrs. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, announced the establishment of the country's first ESPOR Academy in Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, it was announced to establish the country's first break dance academy.
The Sports Minister said that for this, talent will be discovered from July 23 to August 27 through Madhya Pradesh State Junior Employment Championship. In this ten-day tournament, youth in the age group of 12-17 will participate.
Earlier, work is being done to find the breakdance talent included in the Paris Olympics through talent search in every district. In addition to traditional sports, these academies in the state will also give the youth a chance to enhance their skills in these sports.
E-Sports have also been included in the category of medals winning medals as competitive games in international competitions. In this, the Indian team won the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham in 2022. The Asian Games starting in September include ESPORTS.
