 SFURTI MELA is being organized by Khadi and Village Industries Commission in New Delhi from October 01 to 15, 2022. National level exhibition of traditional products of SFURTI group is being organized for the first time to commemorate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

 The objective of this SFURTI MELA is to promote traditional products from across the country among the citizens in the current time of festivals. Apart from this, the fair will also open new avenues for artisans to market and sell the products of these communities.

 A live demonstration of the manufacturing processes of traditional products has also been organized in the theme pavilion of this fair.

 Under SFURTI, traditional artisans are organized into clusters to manufacture value added traditional products to increase their income. These groups cover traditional sectors like handloom, handicrafts, khadi, jute industry, agro-products etc. Government of India provides assistance for infrastructure development, capacity building, marketing and design promotion etc.

 So far, 498 groups have been assisted under SFURTI. About 3 lakh artisans of the country are directly benefiting from this initiative. During the SFURTI MELA, 100 artisans from 50 SFURTI clusters from 28 states are showcasing their traditional products of handlooms, handicrafts, khadi, jute and agro- 
processing.
