Rest of India beat Saurashtra to win Irani Trophy 2022

 Recently Rest of India has won the title of Irani Trophy 2022 of cricket by defeating the Ranji champions Saurashtra of the year 2019-20 by eight wickets. With this Rest of India has won the Irani Trophy for the 29th time. Mukesh Kumar of Rest of India was adjudged the Player of the Match for taking 5 wickets in the match.

 The Irani Trophy which marks the domestic cricket season in India was held in Rajkot from 1–4 October 2022. Jaydev Unadkant led the Saurashtra side.

Irani Trophy

 It is organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) between the current Ranji Trophy champion team and the Rest of India team. The Irani Trophy consists of a four-day match.

 It was started by BCCI in the year 1969-70. It was named after BCCI treasurer Zal Irani.
