 International Day of Older Persons is celebrated all over the world on 1 October every year. The theme of International Day of Older Persons, 2022 is 'Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World'.

 International Day of Older Persons is observed every year on 1 October by the United Nations General Assembly on 14 December 1990 to end the abuse and injustice being done towards the elderly all over the world, to increase awareness among the people and to strengthen the socio-economic condition of the elderly.

 It was decided to celebrate International Day of Older Persons for the first time on 1 October 1991.
