International Sufi Festival (ISFI) is a commemorative festival in honor of Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. The ISFI festival held annually in Ajmer commemorates the teachings of Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
The essence of the teachings of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti talks about the union of the human soul with the Supreme (God) through Sufi music. As a result, music and dance activities abound during this huge festival.
The event is a celebration of divine love with sacred arts, calligraphy inscriptions, spiritual music, poetry, peace and harmony messages from Ajmer Sharif to the world.
The event will also feature acclaimed Sufi musicians as well as 40 artists from different parts of India and 40 global sacred art collections from different countries.
Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti
Moinuddin Hasan Chishti was born in the year 1141-42 AD in Sizistan (Present-day Sistan) of Iran. Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti started preaching in Ajmer in the year 1192 AD, when Muhammad Ghori (Muizuddin Muhammad bin Sam) defeated Prithviraj Chauhan in the Second Battle of Tarain and established his rule in Delhi.
His instructive discourses rich in spiritual knowledge soon attracted the local population as well as kings, nobles, farmers and the poor in remote areas.
