Apeksha Fernandes Becomes First Indian Woman To Reach Finals Of World Junior Swimming Championships
The 17-year-old Indian swimmer clocked 2:19.14 in the final on Wednesday to finish last among eight swimmers.
Apeksha improved her own 'best Indian time' earlier in qualifying by clocking 2:18.18 sec to make it to the final. She has become the first Indian woman to reach the final of a world competition. Her previous best was 2:18.39 sec, which she had set in June, but is still awaiting recognition from the Swimming
