Onam festival will be celebrated in South India, especially Kerala, from 30 August to 08 September 2022.

Onam, the most popular festival of Kerala, is usually celebrated in the first fortnight of September. This year Thiru Onam, the most special day of the Onam festival, was celebrated across Kerala on 30th August.
It is called the agricultural festival of the state and is mainly celebrated by Malayalee Hindus. Onam begins with Chingam, the first month of the Malayalam calendar; hence it is also called the New Year of Malayali Hindus.
The first and last day of this festival of about 10-12 days is the most important. This festival also marks the return of Asura King Mahabali to his home.
On Onam, Sadya consisting of 26 dishes is served on a banana leaf in a special manner and order, which is called Sadya Thali and it is the most important event of Onam.
