National Small Industries Day celebrated on 30th August
On August 30, 2001, the Ministry of Small Scale Industries organized a 'Small Industries Conference' for small entrepreneurs in New Delhi along with this, national awards for small scale industries were also presented, since then on 30 August every year 'National Small Industries Day'.
This day recognizes the importance of small businesses in providing employment to the common people and is dedicated to encourage them. In a developing country like India, small scale industries play an important role in economic development. Keeping in view the strategic relevance of such areas, special emphasis has been laid on the need for their development.
As a result, the trend of government policy assistance to small industries has been beneficial and has been conducive to the development of small enterprises. A comprehensive policy package for the small scale sector was launched on August 30, 2000, with the aim of providing significant support to small firms in India.
