Carlos Alcaraz beats Novak Djokovic to win his first Wimbledon title

 World number one Carlos Alcaraz won his maiden Wimbledon title in five sets that lasted four hours and 42 minutes. Alcaraz won his second Grand Slam title by defeating Djokovic 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 in the final played on Center Court on 16 July 2023 at the All England Club, London.

 Spain's 20-year-old Alcaraz defeated Djokovic, a seven-time champion, and became the youngest player since Boris Becker to win the Wimbledon title. In 1986, Boris Becker won the title at the age of 18. Djokovic failed to win his 24th Grand Slam title.

Women's singles


 Czech Republic's Marketa Vondrousova won the women's singles title of the Wimbledon tennis tournament. The first unseeded player to do so in the Open Era. She defeated Ons Jebur of Tunisia 6-4, 6-4 in the final. Vondrousova is the fourth Czech player to win the Wimbledon women's singles title after Martina Navratilova, Jana Novotna, and Petra Kvitova.
